When threats become reality, Winter has to take the horses she has rescued to a safe place. Little did she know the haven she found for them would keep her as well. A winter storm strands her. She can't leave the horses and run. The pain of her past wasn't enough it seems. The danger has followed her.

Good thing her horses' safety isn't the only thing Luke cares about. Even though he's sworn never to fall for a woman, the beautiful Native American with the magic touch with the animals and his retired Navy Seal team makes it next to impossible not to fall for her. When the danger comes to his back door, Luke changes his vow to one of protecting her.

Who is threatening her? Her past should be there in her past. So who? The team is starting a rescue service with Winter as their first case. Little did they know there were other connections. Great characters, intrigue, emotions, steam, and overall story.

This is the first I've read in the series yet when the characters from other books are mentioned the author does a good job of giving a mini synopsis of their stories. I plan to read the rest of the series even though this story stood alone with no problem. This new to me author isn't going to stay new I recommend the book.
